Prior to filling, the bottom valve of the IBC tote must be inspected to ensure there are no leaks.
Before filling, the IBC tote requires proper electrostatic grounding. Since the exterior of the tote cannot be directly connected to standard static elimination equipment, our company must implement the following protective measures prior to filling:
1. Insert a slender stainless steel tube through the tote's filling port, extending one end down to the bottom of the container. The entire length of the tube must be wrapped with a braided copper cable to enhance the dissipation of static electricity.
2. The external section of the tube must be securely connected to an electrostatic grounding monitor equipped with an alarm system.
3. The external steel cage frame of the IBC tote must also be securely connected to an electrostatic grounding monitor equipped with an alarm system.
Utilize a nitrogen gas cylinder and a thin copper tube to establish a nitrogen blanket (inert gas seal) at the opening of the IBC tote.
During the filling process, water should be sprayed around the IBC tote to help dissipate heat and lower the temperature.
During hot seasons, filling operations should ideally be conducted in the early morning or late evening. If the tote is found to be excessively hot (retaining heat) prior to filling, the lid should be secured, and the container cooled down with water before proceeding with the filling process.
During filling, the flow rate must be carefully controlled; the flow should not be excessively rapid, and the tote should be filled slowly.
During filling, cover the IBC tote's filling port with a sheet of heat-insulating, fire-retardant, and anti-static asbestos cloth to minimize the emission of vapors generated by the volatilization of the material being filled.
