Depending on their material and intended use, IBC totes can be broadly classified into two main categories: plastic IBC totes and metal IBC totes.

1. Plastic IBC Totes:

Materials: Primarily manufactured using plastic materials such as High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene (PP). These materials are characterized by their excellent corrosion resistance, lightweight nature, and ease of processing.

Features: Plastic IBC totes are lightweight, making them easy to handle and transport. They exhibit strong resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, making them suitable for storing chemical reagents, food ingredients, and similar substances. Furthermore, their relatively low cost makes them the most common type of IBC tote found on the market.

2. Metal IBC Totes:

Materials: Primarily constructed from metal materials such as stainless steel and carbon steel.

Features: Metal IBC totes possess high structural strength and exceptional resistance to pressure and impact. Consequently, they are ideally suited for storing materials that demand extremely high safety standards-such as flammable and explosive substances, as well as certain specialized chemicals. However, compared to plastic IBC totes, they are heavier in weight and entail higher manufacturing costs.
