Anti-static Valve

This anti-static valve is a critical safety component designed specifically for use with IBC tanks (also known as ton barrels or intermediate bulk containers) in the handling and storage of flammable liquids, solvents, and sensitive chemicals. Its primary function is to safely dissipate electrostatic charges that accumulate during fluid transfer operations, thereby significantly mitigating the risk of sparks and potential ignition. The anti-static valve works by establishing a complete path for electrostatic discharge:

• Charge Generation: When flammable liquids flow through the valve, friction generates static electricity.
• Charge Collection: Conductive materials inside the valve (such as modified HDPE or PP) absorb and collect these charges.

Charge Transmission:

• Path: Liquid → inner wall/ball of the valve → valve body → IBC metal frame
• Key Point: The valve must maintain electrical continuity with the IBC's metal frame.
• Grounding: The IBC frame is connected to the ground via an earthing clamp, safely dissipating and neutralizing the accumulated static electricity.‌‌‌

Full Conductivity Path: The ball, stem, and valve body are electrically connected throughout, ensuring reliable grounding.
