Welded Butterfly Valve

Opening: The actuator (such as an electric actuator or worm gear handle) drives the valve stem to rotate, causing the disc to turn. When the disc becomes parallel to the pipeline, the medium can flow freely.

Closing: The disc rotates to a position perpendicular to the pipeline, blocking the flow of the medium.

In traditional concentric or single-eccentric butterfly valves, the disc rubs against the seat during operation.

The triple-eccentric design introduces offsets in three dimensions, allowing the sealing surfaces to gradually engage or disengage during rotation. This achieves "zero-friction" operation and enables a self-tightening sealing effect under medium pressure when fully closed.‌‌‌

This is its most distinctive feature. By eliminating bulky flanges, the valve becomes more compact and lightweight, while significantly reducing the installation space required in piping systems.

Without protruding flanges, external insulation layers (such as insulation cotton or metal cladding) can be applied more smoothly and neatly, reducing heat loss-especially suitable for high-temperature steam pipelines.

High-performance welded butterfly valves typically adopt a triple-eccentric design. This structure allows the disc to separate from the seat during opening and closing, eliminating friction, extending service life, and achieving bidirectional bubble-tight sealing.

Compared to soft-seal butterfly valves, welded hard-seal butterfly valves can withstand higher temperatures (up to 425°C–600°C) and higher pressure conditions.
