The cross tubes, also known as horizontal Frame tube or transverse members, are critical structural components within the framework of Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) ton barrels. These tubular elements are strategically positioned to connect the vertical posts or sidewalls of the frame, forming a rigid lattice that defines the container's cuboid shape and ensures its structural integrity.

Force Transmission: In a stacked configuration, the weight of the upper tonne container is transferred through its base to the top horizontal pipe of the lower tonne container, and then through the vertical columns to the bottom pallet. Therefore, the weld strength of the top horizontal pipe is crucial.

 

Impact Protection: In the event of a minor collision during forklift handling, the middle horizontal pipe is typically the first line of defense, absorbing impact energy and preventing the steel pipe from directly puncturing the inner liner.
